The Huyssen Quartier Essen (HQE) stands out as one of the most compelling development projects in the Rhine-Ruhr metropolitan region. From initial concept through to market launch, Immostore shepherds the project forward at every stage. Designed by VSI Verfürth Architekten and HPP Architekten Düsseldorf, this new quarter will catalyze urban development in Essen's cultural hub while revitalizing the Huyssenallee. Positioned directly across from the Philharmonic Hall and Aalto Theatre, adjacent to Stadtgarten park, and just a short walk from the Folkwang Museum, the development will feature over 100 apartments across approximately 10,000 m², complemented by office and commercial space totaling around 7,000 m².

The Phil residential tower—named after the iconic Philharmonic Hall facing it—draws inspiration from the flowing curves of the adjacent Aalto Theatre, echoing them through its balconies and layered forms. Inside, residences range from compact 75 m² units to a luxurious 450 m² penthouse, each offering commanding views across the city and the Ruhr region.

The Huyssen Quartier Essen creates a vibrant, contemporary environment where future residents, workers, and visitors can truly thrive. This extends to thoughtfully conceived floor plans and a distinctive public realm that defines the new neighborhood.

Spanning 3,800 m² and comprising roughly 28,000 m² of gross floor area, the HQE unfolds across five building sections. The Phil tower rises 18 stories with 65 apartments plus two ground-level retail units. Two residential buildings provide 44 units, with 22 benefiting from public subsidy programs. An office building of approximately 4,200 m² is already under lease to a major international tenant. A renovated heritage building fronting Huyssenallee adds further commercial and retail capacity. The three-level underground parking accommodates some 200 cars and over 100 bicycles, while electric car-sharing stations and charging infrastructure round out the mobility options. At its heart, the HQE features generous landscaped areas with high-quality public spaces and children's play zones. Completion is targeted for spring 2022.
