Elegance Redefined

The "Henge Suite by Treutlein" at Breidenbacher Hof captivates through a masterful fusion of exclusive living and curated design.

Where luxury hospitality meets refined high-end design: in late February, the Breidenbacher Hof unveiled the new "Henge Suite by Treutlein." Perched on the seventh floor of this legendary luxury hotel on Königsallee, the suite powerfully demonstrates the creative partnership between Düsseldorf designer Patrick Treutlein and Milan-based Italian interior label Henge. Spanning a generous floor plan, the suite showcases Henge's exquisite creations within a meticulously curated living environment. Yet this distinctive showroom serves a dual purpose—functioning as an exclusive networking venue while also welcoming select VIP guests of the hotel as a private residence.

Spanning approximately 114 m², the "Henge Suite by Treutlein" embraces an open, flowing layout designed to elevate the art of refined living. Kitchen, living, and dining areas flow seamlessly into the bedroom and bath, creating an integrated sanctuary. Each surface, furnishing, and lighting moment has been thoughtfully choreographed, weaving together into an extraordinary composition that intentionally dissolves the traditional boundaries between living, art, and architecture. Patrick Treutlein drew inspiration from an unlikely source: the private suite of Romeo Sozzi, founder of Italian luxury furniture house Promemoria. "I vividly recall my first encounter with Sozzi's Milan suite," Treutlein reflects. "It transcended a mere living space – it was an experience, a masterclass in design excellence. I wanted to bring that same spirit to Düsseldorf and create an environment where the craft of materiality converges with the art of hospitality in an entirely original way."

This vision guided the meticulous curation of every element within the "Henge Suite." Consider the two-part kitchen island, elegantly anchored in space with its quartzite surface reading almost as a tactile sculpture. Or the wall treatments—each handcrafted from either backlit onyx or oxidized sterling silver. The Italian leather furnishings and bespoke curtains introduce a sumptuous tactility, beautifully offset by custom metal lighting objects. "The material palette of the 'Henge Suite by Treutlein' celebrates the richest natural stones, select woods, and rare metals—orchestrated to deliver a multisensory narrative full of subtle sensory dimensions," explains interior architect Tim Wahl, the project's creative lead. This layering becomes especially dynamic through the custom lighting solutions. Each Henge-crafted fixture shifts the room's atmosphere subtly throughout the day, unfolding a continuously evolving sensory story. These compositions marry seamlessly with internationally acclaimed brands—Robbe & Berking, KPM, Dornbracht, Luiz, and Schramm Betten—each selected not only for uncompromising quality and distinction, but also for their commitment to sustainable longevity and environmental responsibility. The "Henge Suite by Treutlein" represents far more than a singular design vision: it embodies a philosophy of luxury built to endure, transcending fleeting trends.
