The family-run manufacturer Brasilheroe specializes in custom beanbags.

The story began over 30 years ago in São Paulo, when Rubens Matias and João Raimundo Ferreira dos Santos set up a modest workshop in a basement. Working with minimal tools but exceptional craftsmanship, they created their first beanbags. Years later, their daughter Luana dos Santos came to Germany to study—and decided to stay for love. Together with her husband Mathias dos Santos Held, she founded Brasilheroe in Leipzig, bringing that distinctive Brazilian spirit and laid-back aesthetic to the German market through their signature beanbag designs.

Brasilheroe operates on a made-to-order basis: production begins only after a customer places an order. On their website, customers can build a completely personalized beanbag from numerous fabric and design options. All products are manufactured in São Paulo. To minimize their environmental footprint, Brasilheroe consolidates orders whenever possible—this way, shipments aren't sent individually from Brazil to Europe. The beanbags feature filling made entirely from recycled plastic waste, which is itself fully recyclable. The small-bead filling has another benefit: it continuously adapts to your body position, keeping your spine naturally engaged. Available in fabric and leather, suited for indoor and outdoor settings, and offered in multiple sizes, the collection is complemented by matching poufs that double as footrests or side tables.
