Anything is Possible!
Focus designs custom fireplaces engineered to meet even the strictest emission standards.
In the field of wood-burning fireplaces and stoves, new legal regulations have changed the rules of the game in recent years in order to ensure better air quality. This is a good initiative, but it may seem a little confusing at first because it appears so complex. However, there are definitely solutions.
Wood-Burning Fireplaces: Can You Still Install Them?
Since 2022, new regulations have been in force for the installation of stoves and fireplaces in order to remove fine dust more effectively and thus protect the environment and the neighbourhood. The rule is: the further a fireplace is from the highest point of the roof – the roof ridge – the higher the chimney must be, which can result in it protruding several metres above the roof. To avoid this often unattractive height, it is advisable to position the chimney below or close to the roof ridge. In this position, the height of the chimney may be limited to up to 40 cm in accordance with the new guidelines, which allows for a more discreet appearance. In classic gable roofs, the chimney thus becomes a central design element in the room (see illustration). In a monopitch roof, which has only one sloping roof surface, the chimney can be positioned to the side, which opens up additional design freedom (see illustration).
The Rise of Gas, Bioethanol, and Hologram Fireplaces
Focus brand fireplaces, with their distinctive design, are freestanding or suspended and can rotate 360 degrees. They are perfect for installation where the fireplace is placed in the centre of the room. The closed, wood-burning Ecodesign models offer excellent efficiency and meet some of the world's most stringent emission standards.
The central Focus models – including the hanging models – are available in gas, bioethanol and even hologram versions.
Fireplaces and stoves that are fuelled by gas have no requirements for chimney outlets and can be connected to the natural gas network or to butane/propane gas cylinders. Focus gas models are also compatible with biogas.
Focus bioethanol models do not require any outdoor vents. They produce real flames and heat and can be placed anywhere in the room, regardless of the floor of the house, in flats or in public areas.
Focus's electrically powered hologram models, which enable gentle heat distribution through the chimney pipe, are ideal for rooms such as bedrooms, hotel rooms, but also waiting rooms of doctors or solicitors, for example, where mild heat is often preferred.
