idd cologne invites you to the premiere
New premium interior design event in Cologne
Launching October 26–29, 2025, idd cologne debuts as a groundbreaking premium interior design event. Taking an innovative urban-only approach, the format brings together presentations from around 100 design brands, targeted programming, and extensive networking opportunities—bringing design directly to where people live and work across Cologne's city center. Designed for both design professionals and enthusiasts, idd cologne transforms the city into a dynamic stage for modern living and interior design for four days.
"idd cologne's approach centers on connection, experience, and dialogue," explains Maik Fischer, Director of idd cologne. "Around 100 leading brands from residential, hospitality, and commercial interiors will showcase their work across multiple venues throughout the city. This creates an inspiring platform for brands and trade professionals alike, establishing Cologne as a key landmark in Europe's design landscape." By blending regional focus with international design language, the event-driven trade fair strategically engages markets across Germany and the Benelux region.
Central to idd cologne's modern event concept is an inclusive, integrated approach. Distinctive venues including Design Post Cologne—a long-established hub for the international design scene—the heritage-listed Moeller fabric pavilion (an iconic example of post-war modernist architecture by Riphahn), and machwerkhaus köln (a center for design and urban production) form the backdrop for presentations by leading brands including Bielefelder Werkstätten + IP, Bretz, COR, Evavaara Design, Hem, kaas + heger, Kettnaker, KFF, Lammhults, mobitec, Möller Design, raumkörper, Ruhe und Raum, and THONET.
The temporary "Light Hall" at machwerkhaus köln presents a dedicated showcase exploring light design. Prestigious manufacturers and designers—including Baltensweiler, Buschfeld, Casambi, and Oligo—unveil new products, prototypes, and curated collections. The exhibition is enriched with behind-the-scenes studio access, bespoke designer pieces, and seminars on smart building innovation.
Beyond the main venues, a network of over 20 local showrooms and retail partners extends the event experience throughout the city. Spaces like Bretz Store, Heerdt, JAN KATH, smow with bulthaup, and Stoll Wohnbedarf + Objekt open their doors to showcase diverse brand worlds as part of idd cologne. The exhibition platform spans the entire city, transforming Cologne into a self-guided design route where visitors can discover premium design brands at every turn.
