A Sanctuary of Serenity
Hotel Bayerischer Hof Unveils New Panorama Suite
Since spring 2025, the seventh floor of Munich's luxury Bayerischer Hof hotel has welcomed an extraordinary addition: Panorama Suite 7 – a one-bedroom masterpiece whose harmonious design creates an atmosphere of warmth and tranquility. The suite features a bedroom, dressing room, and generously proportioned living space with bar and integrated kitchen. A stunning focal point is the 2.7-metre dining table from the 18th century, crafted from French elm wood, paired with a 19th-century maple bench from Italy. The pièce de résistance: a private loggia that beckons you to savor the Munich evening sky.
The suite effortlessly expands into a two- or three-bedroom layout, offering up to 170 square metres of refined space. This includes an additional double bedroom that connects seamlessly to the main suite, plus a single room featuring a distinctive alcove bed. For those acquainted with the Bayerischer Hof, the mastermind behind this extraordinary space is unmistakable: Axel Vervoordt, globally celebrated interior architect and devoted art and antiques collector, delivering his ninth transformative project for the hotel. The Belgian visionary is renowned for his singular philosophy—crafting spaces that feel as though they've existed for centuries. His hallmark aesthetic marries authenticity with timeless elegance, drawing from natural materials, historical artifacts, and carefully balanced proportions. Here, Vervoordt has embraced natural hues and organic materials: warm earth tones, 18th-century oak flooring, hand-dyed 19th-century linen upholstery, and walnut furnishings that embody his unmistakable sensibility. A 3.2-metre sofa in soft grey invites unhurried moments of repose. Lighting and vessels from Vervoordt's Gravenwezel ateliers—including oak and handmade Japanese paper fixtures—impart a distinctive character throughout. The exquisite fabrics are personally curated by May Vervoordt, his wife, whose refined selections elevate the suite's singular atmosphere.
With Panorama Suite 7, the Hotel Bayerischer Hof builds on one of the most significant design collaborations of recent years, once again establishing itself as a beacon of refined elegance. Munich-based interior architect Gregor Baur led the project management and on-site planning, seamlessly translating the vision of Axel Vervoordt and hotel director Innegrit Volkhardt into the historic building's existing architecture—a testament to his decades of expertise and refined understanding of design. The partnership between Hotel Bayerischer Hof and Axel Vervoordt shows no signs of slowing. Another major renovation project is already underway, with the lobby set to unveil a stunning new chapter in 2026, as initial construction phases have commenced.
