The Dortmund Science and Technology Campus (TZDO) has been in existence since 1985 and is one of the leading technology and start-up centers in Europe. It is home to over 300 companies with around 13,500 employees. The site is located in the immediate vicinity of Dortmund University of Technology and close to Dortmund University of Applied Sciences and Arts. The "Im Weissen Feld" industrial estate, in which the Markus Gerold Group has developed a new quarter, is located to the west of the TZDO.

The project developer from Unna has constructed five three, four and five-storey buildings with a total of around 16,000 m² of office and technology space on two plots of 7,600 m² and 2,600 m² on Sebrathweg. These feature a modern, flexible and communicative space concept that meets the specific requirements of its users and offers an optimal working environment. The building cubatures on the site on Brennaborstrasse fit together along the course of the street to form a large, harmonious overall picture. The architecture has a timeless look with its curtain-type metal façade and golden color accents. It creates a visual highlight of the ensemble, particularly with the "golden crown" on the first building on the corner of Brennaborstrasse and Sebrathweg, in the form of a golden roof structure made of expanded metal. The five building volumes are connected via glazed access areas, which are recessed into the façade. The height of the windows changes from floor to floor on the five-storey elevation facing north. By designing the buildings as a block, three inner courtyards are created from the second floor southwards. Here, the buildings change to a three-storey structure and open up towards the spacious green areas and the neighboring building on Sebrathweg, which forms the counterpart with its cubature. The buildings also open up towards each other in the direction of Sebrathweg, creating a forecourt with an inviting gesture to linger. The usable areas can be divided up from 460 m² and can therefore be used in a variety of ways. Technology areas with delivery zones are available on the first floors of the buildings, while the office and administration areas are located on the upper floors. The buildings are planned as KfW Efficiency House 55 and feature a comprehensive ventilation system, heat pump, triple glazing, external sun protection and a photovoltaic system, among other things. The main usable areas are designed to be barrier-free, with fiber optic connections and IT cabling already in place. The existing parking garage will be expanded by 180 parking spaces and partially equipped with e-charging stations.
