Color and Clean Forms

Andrea Reicherzer Crafts Ceramics for Everyday Life

For Andrea Reicherzer, pottery has become inseparable from life. The trained architect first encountered clay in school, but set the hobby aside during her university years and early career. That changed in 2021 when a pottery course reignited her passion. Driven by her love of the material, she founded Ton und Wasser (Clay and Water) in Gräfelfing, just outside Munich. Today, her workshop produces functional ceramics distinguished by vibrant colors and clean, purposeful forms. As a Munich native, Reicherzer maintains a principled stance: she takes no commissions, believing that artistic freedom—the ability to create entirely on her own terms—is essential. Each piece is crafted by hand, either on an electric potter's wheel or using the slab-building technique.

Every vase, candleholder, plate, cup, and bowl is a one-of-a-kind creation. While decorative details vary from piece to piece, the collection is designed to mix and match effortlessly. Dots, waves, stripes, and florals feature throughout, alongside lighter pieces where speckled clay creates subtle texture beneath the glaze. For generous servings of tea or coffee, Reicherzer offers colorful cups with a 500-milliliter capacity. All pieces are fired at 1,240 degrees and are dishwasher safe. Ceramics are sold through the Ton und Wasser online shop and at design markets throughout the Munich area. Interested in trying pottery yourself? Reicherzer now offers workshops at her studio for those eager to work with clay.
