Where Fresh Ideas Take Shape
An office concept that champions flexibility and fosters collaboration
An international auditing firm reimagined its Frankfurt headquarters around activity-based working (ABW) and desk sharing—boosting productivity while fostering a vibrant workplace culture. The Düsseldorf-based design consultancy pro m² rose to the challenge, crafting a contemporary office that balances the client's exacting demands for flexibility and functionality with the firm's core values.
Central to the vision was strengthening employee connection—no small feat when the office spans two floors. An internal staircase flowing directly into the expansive meeting hub solved this elegantly. The design language weaves in the company's corporate colors while deliberately avoiding white walls. Instead, a sophisticated palette of grays pairs with dark carpeting and ship-deck-style parquet to establish a refined atmosphere. Violet emerges as the signature accent throughout: workstations keep things understated with white desks and dark flooring, while violet acoustic panels inject bold visual interest. Meeting rooms echo this approach—black tables paired with violet accent walls and warm wooden slat partitions that soften the space. The think tanks, designed as intimate focus zones, feature light violet walls outfitted with acoustic treatments and violet stools in varying tones. Meeting points and lounges shift into higher gear with striking combinations of violet, hot pink, and black, anchored by wooden lattice screens that temper the energy. In ancillary spaces, gold accents—from fixtures to kitchen surfaces to side tables—reinforce a premium feel. "We positioned nearly every room along the glass façade," notes interior architect Annika Decker. "With glass walls throughout, the offices flood with natural light while offering those stunning views from every vantage point." The two-year journey encompassed far more than interior design: pro m² guided property selection, workplace strategy, change management, and full construction oversight. The result speaks for itself—a masterclass in how strategic planning and imaginative design create not just functional workspaces, but inspiring environments where teams thrive.
