Individually tailored
A tailor-made place for a family to feel at home
People are now living in a bunker in Ottensen. Studio Lisa Fardi was commissioned with the interior design, bathroom and lighting planning and individual furniture design for one of the spacious apartments. In consultation with the client, the interior designer created a concept that perfectly matched the family's ideas and wishes. The interior designer chose natural materials with a warm appearance and pleasant feel, such as wood, stone, linoleum and mineral wall paints, to create a deliberate contrast to the solid concrete shell of the former bunker, which is also visible in the apartment. In combination with the purist design of the custom-made fixtures, a well thought-out room concept and atmospheric lighting design, Lisa Fardi created a place to feel good. The apartment is characterized by open spaces, bright surfaces and a focus on the essentials.
One challenge was to integrate as much storage space as possible in the corridors while maintaining the spaciousness of these areas. This is achieved by the monolithic built-in cupboard, which leans against the existing wall throughout - even around the corner - and thus takes a back seat in the room. Technical equipment, clothing, shoes, printer accessories and cleaning utensils are well concealed here. To create the desired seating in the entrance area, a niche was "cut out" of the piece of furniture. This gives the room more lightness. The mirror opposite also widens the view.
The design of the bathrooms included the shower enclosures, the tiled backsplashes and the design of the washbasins and mirror cabinets. High-quality materials were used: solid surface material, lacquered solid wood and mosaic tiles. Black fittings and aluminum profiles as well as designer lights and radiators support the minimalist design language.
In the private rooms of the family members, individually coordinated built-in wardrobes, beds and desks were created based on Lisa Fardi's designs. An illuminated wall shelf was integrated into the wardrobe for the favorite pieces of a creative teenager. One of the designer's favorite pieces of furniture can be found in the younger child's room. A wooden loft bed that can be used for several purposes: sleeping, playing and relaxing - on both levels. It not only offers plenty of storage space, but is also practical, comfortable and stable.
