Light and natural: Inside Laura Wontorra's home

Thomas Mang Studio crafted a serene sanctuary using Dekton by Cosentino for the television presenter.

Laura Wontorra stands among Germany's most prominent media personalities. Her career keeps her constantly on the move—studios, stadiums, and endless travel. Her Cologne home, then, is her sanctuary. Thomas Mang Studio translated her desire for balance into an understated, elegant interior that places tranquility, natural light, and authentic materials at its heart.
Cologne, 5 February 2026 – Two essential spaces have undergone complete transformation: the kitchen and the primary bathroom. Both showcase a harmonious aesthetic that marries the warmth of wood with the refined purity of stone tones. Expansive Dekton surfaces from Cosentino infuse each space with visual cohesion, lasting durability, and timeless calm.

An open kitchen showcasing materials as the hero

Thomas Mang Studio opened the kitchen to the living room, flooding the space with natural light and strengthening the visual connection throughout the home. A substantial kitchen island with Dekton Entzo—inspired by Calacatta Gold marble—anchors the room as an undeniable statement piece.
"Opening the kitchen into the living area transformed everything. The space feels brighter, more generous, more welcoming. And that Dekton countertop with its golden veins and silky matte finish is absolutely stunning, especially paired with the light pine cabinetry and elegant bar stools," Wontorra enthuses.

A seamlessly hidden cooktop integrated into the light countertop

An innovative Invisacook system transforms the worktop into an induction cooktop without any visible trace. This elegant technical solution lets you cook directly on Dekton while maintaining the unbroken visual flow of the surface. "It's quite the spectacle when Laura prepares her salad with hot tofu pieces," designer Thomas Mang shares with delight.
Even under daily use, the surface stays immaculate, functional, and beautiful. Light pine cabinetry and refined bar stools add texture and color balance to the composition. The restrained palette of off-white, gold, and beige creates a luminous setting that radiates calm.

The bathroom as sanctuary: Where contrast creates balance

The former sauna has been reimagined alongside Naturstein Hotte into a sun-drenched primary bathroom. Dekton Sabbia—drawing inspiration from Italian travertine—wraps both floor and walls in a continuous, matte surface with a silky tactile quality. Its warm sandy tone and organic texture echo natural stone while entering into perfect dialogue with the dark oak cabinetry.

"The interplay between dark wood and light Dekton creates something truly special," observes Thomas Mang. "By specifying large-format slabs for floors and walls, we minimized joints to strengthen that sense of seamless continuity."

Monolithic design for uncompromising serenity

The standout feature is the Silence double basin, also crafted from Dekton Sabbia. Conceived as a monolithic form, it seems to emerge from the wall with the grace of a still waterfall. Minimalist and purposeful, its clean lines integrate seamlessly into the architectural language.

Carefully orchestrated lighting emphasizes the material's depth. Soft illumination plays across the surfaces, accentuating the nuances of this reinterpreted travertine and establishing a warm, restful mood. Dekton's tactile quality enhances the effect. "Dekton simply excels—it's visually stunning, incredibly pleasant to touch, virtually maintenance-free, and practically indestructible. Plus, it opens up monolithic design possibilities we really appreciate," the studio concludes.
