Alexander von Dombois designs furniture and accessories for everyday life
Alexander von Dombois was enthusiastic about many areas of traditional craftsmanship from an early age. Pottery, goldsmithing or fly tying for fly fishing - everything interested the South African-born artist even in his childhood and youth. After training as a graphic designer, von Dombois studied Sustainable Design at the ecosign/Akademie für Gestaltung in Cologne. In 2020, he founded his own label alexandervondombois in Ehrenfeld. The designer always focuses on the aspect of sustainability in his designs. His aim is to design things that last a very long time and are so timeless that they can be passed on from one generation to the next.
Tünn & Schäl is also one of the designer's designs: the chair and table have an understated design and are available in robust beech or oak wood. They are lightweight, stackable and durable and fit just as well in the kitchen as they do in a brewery, café or home office. The hurdles of everyday life are easier to overcome with Tritt. Thanks to its clear lines, the small stepladder looks unobtrusive and can be used in the home or workshop as required. Dig garden cutlery consists of a planting trowel for repotting, a flower fork for loosening and aerating the soil and an all-purpose knife for cutting and removing roots. The handy format is suitable for use in beds and tubs. The garden tools can be hooked together to save space and can be stowed away practically and ready to hand for the next trip to the garden. There is a hole in the handle for hanging on a hook.
