Albert Dijkman is the creative mind, founder and managing director of the family-run furniture manufacturer FraaiBerlin. Born in the Netherlands, he initially studied photography at the Minerva Art Academy in Groningen. In 2012, he came to Germany for love and founded FraaiBerlin in Friedrichshain in 2016. Together with his team, he designs and produces unique handmade pieces in the manufactory - the industrial design furniture combines lively, rustic solid wood from Germany and the Netherlands with timeless steel design. Tropical woods are generally not used. The furniture is suitable for stores, restaurants or private homes.
The range includes dining tables in industrial design and country house style, coffee tables, benches and stools, shelves, sideboards, chests of drawers, beds and bedside cabinets. One example is the Jasmijn/Donoe dining table: It combines two contrasts - solid, cool iron and warm, lively old oak wood. Unevenness, small cracks and unconventional coloring make the table an individual piece of furniture. It is easy to clean, clearly structured and triple-coated. The sanded, four to five centimeter thick, waxed planks underline the industrial look. The rustic Verdon bed is made of timber and focuses on minimalism: here too, the unevenness of the wood is part of the overall look. The four to five centimeter thick planks are sanded and waxed to provide an easy-care surface. The bed is available in widths from 120 to 200 cm and is 200 cm long. All dimensions can also be customized on request.
