Teamwork at Its Best

A striking new centerpiece emerges on the Mercedes-AMG campus: a multifunctional building aptly named "Team Building." Conceived by Gellink + Schwämmlein Architects, this structure anchors the company's existing engine manufacturing facility while serving as the central hub for employees and visitors alike. Its facade strikes a dramatic interplay of light and shadow, further accentuated by stands of black bamboo framing the outdoor landscape.

The "History Wall" in the striking entrance zone tells the story of AMG's 50-year legacy—a legacy built on automotive excellence, exclusivity, efficiency, and exhilarating performance. Nearly every space within carries a name that speaks to this identity: the "Charge Point" cafeteria and "Pit Stop" dining venue open onto generous outdoor terraces, while the in-house "Power" fitness studio completes the offering. Conference spaces and a lounge crowned with a roof terrace round out the program. Bold graphics, dramatic lighting, curated exhibits, and deliberately raw, unfinished surfaces evoke the primal energy of a racing circuit—pure AMG DNA. The material palette speaks equally boldly: asphalt, exposed concrete, and steel dominate, tempered by the warmth of wood and textiles that soften floors, walls, and furnishings. Angled walls create shifting spatial perspectives, expanding and contracting sight lines so the room reveals itself gradually rather than all at once. This dynamic tension translates AMG's core values—curiosity and motion—into lived experience.

The company's sustainability commitment runs deep through the building's systems: geothermal heating, combined heat and power generation, heat-recovery ventilation, grey water recycling for toilets, thermal mass activation, and green roofing all work in concert. Inside, living green walls on every floor actively improve air quality. Equally important, the "Team Building" fosters social sustainability by prioritizing employee well-being—through fitness facilities, the rooftop lounge, and thoughtful spaces designed to support genuine work-life balance.
