The long-established pharmacy on the market square in Kelkheim was completely redesigned. The owner wanted a modern and orderly ambience that would emphasize the proximity to the customers. This wish was also to be expressed in the redesign of the store. The interior design by brandherm + krumrey therefore focused on creating an inviting and trusting atmosphere.

Before the redesign, the public sales area of the pharmacy presented a rather confusing picture. Instead, transparency and tidiness should prevail after the renovation. The first question that arose during the redesign was how to translate the expertise of the owner and her team as well as customer proximity into a coherent appearance that also created a better overview. The starting point for the new interior design was therefore the spatial reorganization of the sales areas. The color-coded zoning of the individual functional areas of the pharmacy not only facilitated quick orientation, but also created an emphatically friendly ambience. The spatial and colorful reorganization brings clarity to the product range and at the same time signals an inviting openness. Shelves made of simple, filigree metal frames emphasize the open structure and discreetly showcase the products on offer.

A consultation zone in the new pharmacy ensures discretion. The surfaces of the sales counters in warm wood tones and an upholstered bench in the middle of the room also contribute to the pleasant atmosphere of the redesigned pharmacy. The color scheme of the shelves and bench in an earthy red and the mint green back wall behind the sales counters are also reminiscent of natural tones. The pharmacy appears significantly larger after the conversion, and attention was also paid to barrier-free implementation. The result is a harmonious overall appearance that is both modern and welcoming.
