A white structure appears to float above a rural plot, commanding expansive views across the landscape. This is the new home for a young family of four, designed to fulfill their vision of modern, purist architecture infused with warmth and livability. Spanning two storeys plus basement and a rooftop studio, Möller Architects' design achieves its floating effect through a refined contrast: a pristine white volume sits atop a recessed dark timber-clad base. The ground floor, wrapped in dark wooden slats and substantially set back, creates this visual suspension of the upper floors. The garage entrance—its timber-clad door seamlessly flush with the façade—vanishes into the composition. This recessed ground level generates generous, weather-protected thresholds: sheltered zones before the main entrance and above the timber deck at the dining room.

The sculptural upper storey, articulated by bold cutouts framing loggias and balconies, houses the family's private quarters. The rooftop studio and its terrace mirror the ground floor's language—dark tones and horizontal plaster articulation—creating visual continuity. A defining gesture is the fixed sunscreen above the glass corner of the studio: a bold architectural statement that reinforces the home's relationship to the open countryside. This layered design extends inward, where material and spatial clarity guide the interior experience. The ground floor's luminous, flowing living space is anchored by a single anthracite-lacquered storage element, allowing the architecture to breathe.

The interior's crowning feature is the single-flight staircase, immediately visible from the entrance: a sculptural composition of exposed concrete, cantilevered oak treads, and frameless glass balustrades that connects all four levels to the rooftop studio. Warm, indirect lighting choreographs the visual journey through the home, fostering an inviting atmosphere. Outside, flowing landscape forms—natural stone paving and native plantings—create a refreshing counterpoint to the home's geometric clarity. The owners are thrilled with the result: a harmonious fusion of clean modernist lines and authentic natural materials. As they reflect: "We've created a home where our entire family and our guests simply feel at ease."
