Water stands at the heart of today's climate crisis—both as a vital resource and a mounting threat. Rising seas, devastating floods, and prolonged droughts demand fresh thinking in architecture and urban design. The exhibition "Wind Blows, Water Rises" explores the research-driven work of Doreen Heng Liu and her office NODE, whose practice is rooted in the Pearl River Delta in China—one of the world's most densely populated metropolitan regions.

Running through 19 March, the exhibition presents 13 projects that reveal the urban transformations and infrastructural challenges reshaping public space today. Central to the show is the Water and Urbanization research initiative, launched by Liu at Shenzhen University, which investigates water ecosystems and proposes how water can become a catalyst for sustainable urban development globally. Following Shenzhen-ness (2018), Wind Blows, Water Rises marks the second exhibition curated by Doreen Heng Liu at Aedes Architecture Forum.
