Water – too much or too little, clean or polluted – represents one of humanity's greatest challenges. Today, 40 percent of the world's population already faces water scarcity, a crisis that human-caused climate change will only intensify. "Water Pressure: Design for the Future" – an exhibition by the Museum für Kunst und Gewerbe Hamburg (MK&G) and Jane Withers Studio – explores the global water crisis from multiple angles, showcasing design ideas with the power to fundamentally reshape our future. Drawing on approximately 75 innovative works spanning design, architecture, art, and science, the exhibition reveals how nature-inspired principles offer compelling pathways forward.

Organized in five chapters, the exhibition presents bold solutions to pressing global challenges – from water scarcity and flooding to pollution and disrupted water cycles. The focus extends to Hamburg itself, examining the port city's present and future water-related challenges, from rising flood risk to potential shortages. A comprehensive program of events, lectures, and activities will unfold across the museum spaces, outdoor areas, and venues throughout the city.
