Polis Convention 2025
A trade fair for urban and project development
On May 7 and 8, the polis Convention 2025 opens its doors at Alte Schmiedehallen on the Böhler site. This year's theme: "Depth. We dare to go deeper." The conversation around how we want to work, live, and shape our futures—whether tomorrow, in five years, or two decades ahead—never stops. Layered onto these discussions are critical questions about sustainable building, circular economies, and thoughtful stewardship of existing structures. We often tell ourselves: "Once we do this or that, everything will finally improve." But here's what we miss: the future is already unfolding. For those much-celebrated best practices to take root and thrive, intention must translate into action. And it is—across countless cities, urban leaders are already building foundations for tomorrow's urban landscape, refining visions and locking in strategies. But they're doing something equally vital: identifying which approaches from the past have genuine staying power and can propel us forward.
This year's polis Convention breaks from the endless conversation about tomorrow's cities. Instead, it invites us to go deeper—to examine the present moment with unflinching clarity. Today's world and its challenges demand more than surface-level thinking. At the fair, you'll explore pressing questions, uncover complex systems, and discover concepts that shape urban futures. As always, the convention operates in hybrid format—bringing together in-person and digital participation. This blend of analog and digital spaces centers on what matters most: urban and project development in all its complexity. Discover emerging developments, identify trends, understand the real challenges facing our cities. Because cities matter to all of us. Join us for two inspiring days filled with fresh perspectives and unexpected insights.
