The focus is on outstanding projects that highlight, in particular, the energy efficiency and climate protection benefits of wood, as well as its wide range of applications and design possibilities as a sustainable building and construction material.

Eligible projects include those from the private, public and commercial sectors in the following categories: – New builds (individual structures, groups of buildings, multi-storey buildings) – Renovation and refurbishment (refurbishment, modernisation, extensions, additions) – Civil engineering structures and special concepts (innovative timber products and systems) Completion: 29 April 2024 to 30 June 2026

The following are eligible to participate: – Timber construction companies – Architects – Civil engineers – Structural engineers – Product developers – Building owners

Deadline for entries: 30 June 2026 at holzbaupreis-nrw.de

Award ceremony: 7–8 October 2026 / FORUM HOLZBAU Congress in Cologne

Entries must have been constructed in North Rhine-Westphalia, or the products must have been developed in North Rhine-Westphalia. Join forces with the Landesbeirat Holz Nordrhein-Westfalen e.V. to showcase what modern, innovative and forward-looking timber construction is already capable of today.
