The Building Green event has been very successful in Denmark since 2011 and has been established in Hamburg since 2023. It provides an important platform for the latest developments and best practices in the field of sustainable construction and architectural concepts. Participants can expect inspiring presentations, innovative exhibitors and extensive networking opportunities.

Everyone is discussing the urgent need to transform the construction industry. We talk too much and do too little. We are in the midst of an acute climate crisis, for which the construction industry bears a large part of the responsibility. We have the solutions and the knowledge of what needs to be done, but this time we want to shed light on how we can move from talking to doing," says Building Green, which is coming to Hamburg's Fischauktionshalle for the second time this summer with its large, free, sustainable construction and architecture event.

When Building Green opens its doors on 19 and 20 June to the historic hall in the heart of Hamburg's harbour, the theme "Act now" will take centre stage. With this theme, Building Green invites the entire value chain of the construction industry to make use of existing knowledge and solutions. The programme is based on this theme and will also cover sub-topics such as conversion and renovation, upcycling and recycling, bio-based materials and social sustainability.

Inspiration and knowledge sharing are essential drivers of sustainable transformation in construction
The program features compelling panel discussions and thought-provoking presentations from leading voices, including Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, who will explore the cradle-to-cradle principle. A follow-up presentation from the Velux Group will address critical questions around planetary boundaries and value chain responsibility across the construction industry.

Building Green's international lineup includes award-winning Dutch architect Thomas Rau, Danish urban designer Jan Gehl, and Spanish architect Teresa Blasco. As founder of RAU Architects, Turntoo, and Madaster, Thomas Rau is recognized globally for his visionary approach to design. He will share insights on innovation, transformation, and his vision for the future of the German construction industry.
