How can socially and ecologically sustainable transformation succeed in cities and rural areas? "Construction Site Transformation. Ten Strategies for City and Countryside" presents ten approaches developed by architects, urbanists, and planners. At the heart of their work lies the existing built environment—our most valuable resource in the transition to a climate-resilient future. To shape change collaboratively and build acceptance for climate goals, they emphasize dialogue and experimentation, temporary uses, and active participation. Rather than passive involvement, they call for genuine shared responsibility. Through community spaces, productive neighborhoods, and contemporary housing models, new perspectives emerge. In this way, transformation becomes tangible and imaginable.

"Construction Site Transformation. Ten Strategies for City and Countryside" is an exhibition and publication by the Association of German Architects (BDA) and the German Architecture Center (DAZ).

The publication and exhibition are part of the research program "Measures in the Field of Building Culture and Promotion of Competitions as well as Other Measures in the Area of Housing and Urban Development" and are supported by the Federal Ministry for Housing, Urban Development and Building.
