Anne Truitt – a pioneer of Minimal Art

The NRW Art Collection presents an exhibition

The Kunstsammlung Nordrhein-Westfalen is presenting the first comprehensive exhibition in Europe of the work of the American artist and writer Anne Truitt (1921–2004). Her minimalist, column-like sculptures transform our perception of space and architecture in a unique way. On display are more than 100 impressive works spanning over four decades, which celebrate the interplay of colour, form and spatial geometry.

Truitt is regarded as a pioneer of Minimal Art (best known for artists such as Donald Judd and Blinky Palermo). Her works are characterised by simple forms, vibrant colours and a quest for pure essence.
