"Across the Stars"

Anne-Sophie Mutter Performs John Williams

From enchanting journeys to mystical realms and epic battles across distant galaxies to mysterious explorations of forgotten worlds – John Williams transforms the visible into sound through his legendary compositions. Anne-Sophie Mutter, an internationally celebrated violinist and friend of the composer, proves herself his equal in artistry. On Friday, 29 August, at 7:30 pm in Kurpark Wiesbaden, she brings forth shimmering violin passages that paint musical worlds of wonder and imagination – performing John Williams' Violin Concerto No. 2, composed expressly for her.

Mutter is joined by the prestigious Royal Philharmonic Orchestra, conducted by Vasily Petrenko. The British ensemble, celebrated for its iconic film and television scores, is renowned for its innovative, boundary-crossing interpretations. Together, they create the perfect conditions to bring John Williams' sweeping cinematic soundscapes to vivid life under the stars at Wiesbaden's Kurpark.

This is an open-air concert held rain or shine. Please note: seating is uncovered.
