Schirn Kunsthalle celebrates temporary relocation
Parade & Opening Event on September 7
The Schirn Kunsthalle Frankfurt is temporarily relocating to Frankfurt-Bockenheim in the striking industrial building of the former Dondorf printing works. It is celebrating the opening of its new location with a large parade through the city center on Sunday, September 7, from 3 p.m. and the participatory dance performance "In C - Community" by the internationally renowned dance company Sasha Waltz & Guests and the techno marching band MEUTE.
Around 100 dancers - professionals and amateurs - present the participatory piece "In C - Community": an open choreography full of energy, improvisation and community spirit. Frankfurt dance groups, spectators and passers-by are invited to become part of the performance and dance along. The destination of the parade is the new interim venue in Frankfurt-Bockenheim. There, the audience can expect a performance throughout the building, music, food & drinks and more.
The reason for the relocation of the renowned art institution is the energy-efficient renovation of the Schirn's main building on the Römer.
