Space for architectural discourse
"auau" platform with outlook for 2024
The architecture firm blrm initiated a cultural platform for exhibitions and events, which now operates under the new name "auau". This creates a space for various exhibitions, stimulating discussions and enriching readings. The platform is a place for exchange, resonance and encounters, which has set itself the task of promoting the architectural discourse in Hamburg and building up a network. Events such as exhibitions, readings, lectures and panel discussions offer space for an open dialog about architecture, the city and society. The operators offer architects and artists the opportunity to exhibit their work and take a stand on current debates.
From 2024, the events will take place under the new name auau. One of these is the "neighbors" exhibition series. Neighborhood can be understood as a social construct that goes far beyond geographical proximity. It reflects a complex network structure that exists on various levels: from local communities to global connections. Neighborhood means not only physical proximity, but also emotional connection, social interaction and mutual support that can take place regardless of geographical boundaries. In a world characterized by accelerated movement and spatial mobility, the idea of neighbourhood takes on a new dimension. It can arise from shared interests or values and helps to maintain a sense of belonging and community in an increasingly globalized and diverse society. "neighbors" is not only the title of the exhibition series, but also an appeal to blur the boundaries between "them" and "us" and to learn from each other. To this end, we invite international and local players to present contrasts and similarities in one place.
