Frankfurt architectural icon hosts German national team for European Championships
The Mélia Frankfurt City also has other exciting things to offer
One of the German national soccer team's European Championship quarters is the Meliá Frankfurt City. National coach Julian Nagelsmann's team faced Switzerland in the preliminary round on June 23 and checked into One Forty West in Frankfurt's Westend for the third time. Find out what Meliá Hotels International has planned for the European Championship until July 14 and where the national team will be sleeping, dining and relaxing.
Under the Spanish kitchen management of Íñigo Urrechu and Patrick Beainy, a real "stadium feeling" will be brought to the Restaurant & Skybar upstairs on request and the soccer euphoria of hotel guests will be accompanied by culinary delights: Signature cocktails in national colors, European Championship tapas, whistles and other stadium accessories can all be booked as public viewings or private viewings for closed groups of guests. Meliá Hotels International is launching similar European Championship specials for other venues of the 2024 European Championship at hotel locations in Berlin, Munich and Leipzig.
In June 2021, the Spanish hotel group Meliá Hotels International (MHI) opened its architectural flagship in Germany. The Meliá Frankfurt City (431 rooms and suites) in One Forty West, designed by Cyrus Moser Architects, is a highlight of the Frankfurt skyline at 140 meters and stands for a new, sustainable hotel vision. The Hotel Director and Director of Operations for the South Germany region explains what particularly appeals to professional athletes here: "I am always proud to welcome the national team here. We all enjoy being part of the team behind the team," says Bastian Becker and adds: "The highest level of privacy and enthusiasm for the sport - from all our team members - is the perfect combination to offer these teams a home away from home. Certainly the architecture of the building in general is very helpful, we have enough space and can easily allocate entire corridors. It is also no problem to create a private dining and lounge area within the 23 floors."
The Meliá Frankfurt City already had an excellent reputation in professional sport before the European Championships: top hotels, top cuisine and luxury real estate with concierge service are united here under one roof. 155 rooms & suites in the specially designed VIP area "The Level" offer special flexibility and professionalism when it comes to hosting international soccer clubs such as FC Barcelona, Betis Sevilla, Olympique Marseille or Westham United FC, but also for the WTT Championship, the Meliá Frankfurt City has already served as a home for international table tennis celebrities.
