"Building Green" comes to Hamburg again

Scandinavian building and architecture event on June 19 and 20

The Building Green event has been very successfully established in Denmark since 2011 and in Hamburg since 2023. It offers an important platform for the latest developments and best practices in the field of sustainable building and architecture concepts. Participants can expect inspiring presentations, innovative exhibitors and extensive networking opportunities.

"Everyone is talking about the urgent need to turn the construction industry around. We talk too much and do too little. We are facing an acute climate crisis for which the construction industry bears a large part of the responsibility. We have the solutions and the knowledge of what needs to be done, but this time we want to shed light on how we can move from talking to doing," says Building Green, which is coming to Hamburg this summer for the second time with its large, free, sustainable construction and architecture event in the Fischauktionshalle.

When Building Green opens the doors to the historic hall in the heart of the Port of Hamburg on June 19 and 20, the theme "Act now" will take center stage. With this theme, Building Green is inviting the entire construction industry value chain to utilize the knowledge and solutions already available. The program is based on the theme and will also cover sub-themes such as conversion and refurbishment, upcycling and recycling, bio-based materials and social sustainability.

Inspiration and knowledge exchange in crucial for the green transition of the construction industry
The program is packed with exciting panel discussions and inspiring lectures by famous names such as Prof. Dr. Michael Braungart, who will speak about the Cradle to Cradle principle. This will be followed by an exciting presentation on Velux Group's thoughts and perspectives on the challenges of planetary boundaries and working across the entire value chain in the construction industry.

Among the international keynotes, Building Green will welcome Dutch award-winning architect Thomas Rau, Denmark's Jan Gehl and Spain's Teresa Blasco. Thomas Rau founder of RAU Architects, Founder of Turntoo and Madaster, is one of the most inspiring architects in the world, and is now ready to inspire the German building industry with a talk on innovation and transformation and his perspective on the future.
- We were looking forward to coming back to Hamburg. There is great support from the industry, both from partners, exhibitors and pre-registrations from participants, and we hope that many from the industry will support us and join us. The more people who come, the bigger the sustainability party we can organize - and the more we can drive the green transition together," says Sarah Elhauge, Managing Director of Building Green.
