Bright, modern and dynamic
Café Lukasgemeinde - a feather-light interplay of design and community
A calm and warm design that makes you feel good, yet functional and practical: for a community café in Berlin-Schöneberg, this basic idea was implemented by using natural and warm materials without affecting the functionality and practicality of the space. The result: a meeting place that is light as a feather, modern and cozy - as inviting as it is stylistically and functionally well thought out.
The client's wishes for the Berlin interior design studio Dittmar + friends were very simple: a meeting place was to be created by redesigning a common room - for arriving and lingering, exchanging ideas and relaxing. Sufficient storage space was also to be created. In order to ensure smooth functionality while retaining a sense of style, hard-wearing surfaces were also required, as was sufficient work space for use by up to 200 people. The result is a stylish café with added social value - an aesthetic place for socializing and meeting. A bench element, which was created by the in-house workshop and perfectly integrated into the bay window, plays just as important a role here as the custom-made wooden cladding.
A particular highlight is the rounded reception counter covered with light-colored tiles, complemented by friendly, restrained lighting. The new space radiates not only lightness, but also a sense of community and sympathy - subtly emphasized by an unobtrusive lighting system and the light-footed, aesthetically simple designer furniture.
