New, more comprehensive climate calculation

Troldtect A/S publishes ESG report

Troldtekt A/S, the Danish manufacturer based in Hamburg, has released its 2024 environmental, social, and corporate governance (ESG) results. The company has increased its use of renewable energy and CO₂-reduced cement in acoustic panel production. Simultaneously, new safety initiatives have strengthened workplace security and team cohesion. The results speak for themselves: 98.3% renewable energy, a doubled share of CO₂-reduced cement, and over one-third fewer workplace accidents year-on-year. For the 15th consecutive year, Troldtekt A/S has documented its sustainability progress, with the 2024 ESG report demonstrating clear advancement across multiple key areas.

The company attaches great importance to being transparent and demonstrating how its passion for people and the planet is put into practice. "We must improve every year, and I am proud that we have once again succeeded in many important areas in 2024," says Michael Heeager Nystrup, CEO of Troldtekt A/S. In Northern Europe in particular, where the majority of sales are generated, there is a strong focus on the climate footprint of construction. He is therefore delighted that the proportion of Troldtekt acoustic panels based on the CO₂-reduced cement type Futurecemtm has doubled again in 2024, after already doubling in 2023. In addition, the company has introduced a new climate calculation that provides a more detailed and nuanced picture of its reduced carbon footprint. It takes everything into account, from raw material transport and travel activities to office operations.

Here are the highlights from 2024
The doubling of FUTURECEM and the new, more comprehensive climate calculation are two of the highlights of the 2024 ESG report. In the report, Troldtekt provides information on, among other things:
> 98.3% renewable energy: In 2024, 98.3% of the energy consumed by Troldtekt came from renewable energy sources (wind power and own bio boiler).
> Fewer accidents at work: In 2024, there were 11 work-related accidents at Troldtekt, six of which resulted in lost working time. In the previous year, there were 18 accidents and nine with lost working time. Safety measures combined with internal campaigns have led to safer behaviour within the company.
> Danish lessons for employees: In 2024, a number of employees at the Troldtekt factory in Troldhede took advantage of an offer of voluntary Danish lessons during working hours. This contributes to safety and cohesion in everyday life.
> Two ISO certifications: In 2024, Troldtekt documented processes and risks in all departments to prepare the company for two ISO certifications. At the beginning of 2025, Troldtekt officially received the two certifications according to ISO 9001 (quality management) and ISO 45001 (occupational health and safety management).
Part of a global sustainability programme
Troldtekt is part of the Irish Kingspan Group, which operates in over 80 countries. Troldtekt meets the EU's sustainability reporting requirements (CSRD) through Kingspan, but has also decided to publish its own report.Kingspan has developed a
comprehensive sustainability programme for the period up to 2030.It is called Planet Passionate and covers all companies in the group. With its own report, Troldtect A/S wants to delve deeper into its work and results and show how it is making a concrete contribution to supporting Planet Passionate, says Michael Heeager Nystrup.

At the 2024 ESG Transparency Award ceremony—organized by German consultancy EUPD Research—Troldtekt earned recognition in the Excellence Class, the highest category. The award was based on the company's 2023 ESG report, and the 2024 report will also be submitted for evaluation.
